Solar panels on the roof

Solar panels on the roof: sustainable energy

The sun is one of the most powerful and cleanest energy sources available, and at ACRES we make full use of it. On the roofs of our barns at Groeneweg, there are hundreds of solar panels. At our ACRES spark location alone, there are nearly 400 panels, generating approximately 150,000 kWh of sustainable electricity per year. That’s enough to power the entire location during the summer months.

We use this solar energy for our installations, lighting, climate control, and other cultivation processes. This reduces our dependence on fossil energy sources and contributes to a cleaner, CO₂-free future.

By smartly aligning production and consumption, we maximise the use of solar energy. When the sun is shining brightly, we partially switch from other sources. During periods with less sun, our energy infrastructure supplements this.
