ACRES works on sustainable greenhouse horticulture in the Westland. For us, growing cucumbers and tomatoes is more than work; it is craftsmanship from which we derive pleasure every day. In the greenhouse we see healthy, strong plants and know what we are doing it for: growing the most beautiful and tasty vegetables. With smart innovations and an eye for sustainability, we continue to improve our working methods and work on tomorrow’s challenges.

Sustainability & circularity

Within our sustainable greenhouse horticulture in Westland, we combine technology, data and cultivation knowledge to continuously improve. We like to keep our climate impact as small as possible. In the greenhouse, a smart and innovative environment, we ensure sustainable cultivation with energy-efficient techniques, economical use of water and natural protection. We reuse residual flows so that nothing goes to waste. In this way we grow efficiently, with a view to the future and with respect for people and the environment.

With smart innovations and modern technologies, we ensure that our cucumbers and tomatoes grow healthy and strong all year round. We continuously invest in solutions that reduce our impact while allowing our crops to develop optimally. We apply the principles of ‘The New Cultivation’ in our greenhouses, building together towards a future where healthy cultivation and responsible entrepreneurship go hand in hand.

Biological control in the greenhouse

In our greenhouses, everything revolves around healthy cultivation, with minimal impact on people and the environment. Therefore, we fully focus on natural crop protection. From predatory mites and parasitic wasps to bumblebees and sticky traps: we work with nature to keep our plants strong and pests under control.

Food safety

Our cucumbers and tomatoes are distributed worldwide. Through Growers United, they are marketed and find their way to various countries in Europe. Growers United maintains contacts with exporters and works closely with retailers and food service partners. Thanks to our strict hygiene protocol, we guarantee that our products are safe, fresh, and reliable on the consumer’s plate.

Building together

Collaboration is in the genes of the Prominent and Green Diamonds growers. Due to the great mutual trust that the growers have built with each other, the group has been at the top of tomato and cucumber cultivation for 30 years. The strong foundation of ACRES is a fine example of this. Together with our strategic partners Bryte, Red Harvest, Roots, Schenkeveld, and The Valley, we are building a future-proof company.

Together with our knowledge partners and suppliers, we form a stable chain. Growers United, as a cooperative, is responsible for sorting, packaging, selling, and marketing our products. This allows us to fully focus on our core activity: craftsmanship in cultivation.
