Innovation with robots

The future of cultivation

Technology plays an increasingly important role in greenhouse horticulture, and at ACRES we embrace this development. That is why we work together with Growers United to actively participate in the development of robotisation. Through the cooperative’s innovation committee, we jointly explore new technological applications. For example, we deploy the harvest robot for tomatoes and the UV robot for cucumbers.

The use of the harvest robot, for example, makes work in the greenhouse lighter and more consistent. Plants are treated precisely and sensors and image recognition determine exactly when a tomato is ready for harvest. This increases quality, reduces waste and makes production more reliable.

In addition to robotics, we use data, sensors and software for data-driven cultivation. We continuously monitor light, temperature, humidity and growth data and adjust our cultivation strategies accordingly. This way, we take small steps every day towards a smarter, more sustainable and more productive greenhouse.
